A christmas sled and ski

Here are some shots of us cross country skiing today. Isaac cried for a while before passing out. Carson was a trooper and just delt with it (and his brother invading his space)

First, we went sledding... we attached the sled to Hank. Here are the results!

Now for the skiing.. Dave was pulling 70+pounds. YIKES

Me sporting my Christmas present, a new ski jacket!

Christmas

Hi family. We were sad to miss everyone, first time ever for me....but made the best of it. We had a great morning, went for a cross country ski and had friends over for dinner.

Here are some videos from this morning....

Getting the Tree

Here are some pictures of us getting our tree. Hot chocolate was included! We went into the forest about 10 miles from our house. This tree was pretty tall, we used the top, 10 feet of it!

Christmas Program

The boys had their christmas program tonight. Here are some video clips.

My dad lost his bet, Isaac actually stayed up on stage the whole time! Isaac is in the front row on the right hand side, and Carson (the big boy) is in the back on the left hand side.

A surprise at the end, was SANTA! Both boys hopped right up on his lap (first time for Carson) Carson told him all kinds of things he would like this year, Isaac just stared at him and smiled!

Ronna's First Elk!

Dave and I went elk hunting together last weekend. I harvested my first elk! Here is a picture of me with my elk.

I harvested her at 3pm and we were 2.5 miles from the truck. We did not have time to get the elk out before dark. Since we are in bear country, we had to be very aware of our surroundings. We quartered the elk (they are huge and cannot be drug out) and hung 3 quarters in a tree to retrieve the next day. Luckily, nothing got the meat and it made it out safely.

Here is a picture of Dave with a quarter plus the loins and backstraps on his back (about 60 lbs) under the tree where we hung the other 3 quarters.

Carson's First Shooting Practice

We were out target shooting to get ready for hunting season. Dave brought his 22 rilfle for Carson to shoot (22 is a step up from a BB gun). Carson did a great job lining up his shot and hit the target 3 times! He had a blast. Isaac wanted to shoot too, but we told him he had to be 4.

New Office

Our new office! Here are a couple of views of the outside. The building's backyard is the Buffalo Hills Golf Course, so our patients will have a nice view. There are four buildings and 8 offices in the complex.

This shows one of the four buildings

A view from a future operatory.

Here are some videos of the current layout of the buildling and Dave's plan to make it into a dental office. Most all of the existing walls will be moved.

The basement is wide open. We eventually plan to put a nice staff area and a study club area. Right now, it is a raceway!

First Day on the Rink

In fact, first day for Isaac on ice skates. He did great for his first time. He fell quite a few times, and unlike his brother, he didn't get frustrated, got back up and kept going at it. They LOVE going to the rink.

At the start of our day....

About 45 minutes in...

More Garden Picks

Here are a couple of more pictures from our garden. Zucchini bread for the neighborhood!

Don't they look like a migrant workers? Dirty kids! Just like I like them, it means they has had a good day outside!

Tommy's Visit

Here are some pictures for our "Uncle" Tommy's visit with Kelly. We went camping and fishing during their stay. We had a great time!

Here are pictures of our catches from Two Medicine Lake in Glacier National Park.

Carson reeled this one in....

Dave and Carson (on his shoulders) could see some monster trout staging for the spawn... they were trying to get them interested in food, but they were not.

This was the day's bounty at Duck Lake.

Carson was explaining the complexities of the world while gazing at Sinopah mountain.

A front view with me making silly faces!

Isaac and Carson slept together in one bed. We went in later to check on them, and Isaac must have fallen off the bed and found it more suitable on the floor.

Even with all of Jake's perils, he still has his priorities straight and was waiting for his next adventure.

From our garden

Here is a picture from our garden. We have tomatoes, squash, peppers and herbs that we use for our dinners!

Finding a Way To Ski

I came outside to check on the boys. Neither one of them has been able to keep any clothes on this summer. Having them nude was not surprising. What was, is what is here on tape... Isaac found two pieces of spare wood, put them up on our hillside where Dave has piled our landscaping sand. He was pretending to ski down the sand on his wood "skis".

Do you think he will be ready this winter?

Camping, Fishing at Holland Lake

We took a family camping trip down to Holland Lake, about 80 miles away from our house. We hiked up to the waterfall, the boys are here holding hands up the trail. Jake even made it, we took plenty of brakes in the shade so he didn't overheat!

The boys at the waterfall.

That night we went out for a night boat ride. There was an outdoor wedding at the lodge with music, so we anchored in the middle of the lake and enjoyed the music. The boys fell asleep in the boat, so Dave and I got some time to talk!

We went fishing the next day... a storm front had moved in, so it was raining off and on. The fishing was great. Dave surprised Isaac with his very own Diego fishing pole. The boys caught about 20 fish, and Dave and I had our share as well. Here is a picture of the boys with a "double" each had a fish on the line.

The biggest fish of the day was caught with Isaac's pole.

The boys and I were showing how excited we were to be in a boat in the rain when it is 60 degrees. :) We tried to make our most miserable faces... it was hard to not laugh!
